Problem Description
After connecting LaserPecker LP5 to the computer via USB, the machine's name cannot be found in the device list.
Troubleshooting
1. Check Your Computer
1.1 Check Computer Requirements
Please ensure that your computer meets the performance requirements for running LaserPecker Design Space (LDS) software. Refer to the figure below for specific requirements:
1.2 Check Computer Drivers
The required driver for the connection may be missing or not installed correctly. Connect the machine to the computer using the USB cable provided with the product, and verify if the driver is installed on your computer by following these steps.
- Right-click the Start button on your computer.
- Click "Device Manager".
- Please click on "Ports" and check if the USB- SERIAL CH340 (COM4) exists.
If the driver is not installed, please follow the steps below to install the driver and then try again.
Download the "driver installation package" first from https://laserpecker-prod.oss-cn-hongkong.aliyuncs.com/apply/drive/CH341SER.zip Choose the appropriate one and double-click to initiate the installation process.
When the installation is complete, please restart your computer and software, then try again.
1.3 Check Computer Antivirus and Firewall
Please turn off the computer's anti-virus and firewall functions, restart the LaserPecker Design Space (LDS), and reconnect the USB.
2. Check USB Cable and Port on LaserPecker LP5
If your computer fails to recognize a device when connected, it may be due to a faulty USB port or data cable. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
2.1 Properly connect the cable
Please insert the data cable into the Type-C port located on the back of the machine, which is indicated by a computer icon as shown below:
2.2 Checking If the USB Port on Your Computer Is Working
To check if the USB port on your computer is working properly, follow these steps:
Step 1: Insert a USB flash drive or another storage device into the USB port on your computer.
Step 2: See if your computer detects the device.
If it does: The USB port is working properly, and the unconnection might be caused by other reasons. In this occasion, you can try using a new cable for the connection.
If it doesn't: The USB port isn't working properly. Follow these steps for further troubleshooting:
Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive or another storage device into a different USB port on your computer.
Step 2: See if your computer detects the device.
If it does: Reconnect your computer to the LP5.
If it doesn't: You may need to try a different computer or consider other troubleshooting methods.
