Connect to LDS mobile APP
Way 1: Wi-Fi Connection (First time Wi-Fi setup or changing the network)
When setting up Wi-Fi for the first time, it is necessary to configure the Wi-Fi network for the device.
Before proceeding, please ensure the mobile phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, the LP5 is powered on, and the indicator is flashing white.
Launch the LaserPecker Design Space APP and tap the "+" icon located in the upper right corner. Then, choose the "LP5" machine model and select the laser unit that you wish to connect to.
Follow the instructions to select Wi-Fi (Both the machine and the phone must be connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network).
Enter the Wi-Fi password (to prevent input errors, we recommend enabling password preview), then click Next and wait for the network to be successfully configured (the Laser Unit indicator will be a solid blue when the connection is successful).
Tips: If the network configuration fails, please check: 1. If the machine and the phone are on the same 2.4GHz WiFi network.
2. If the Wi-Fi password you entered is correct (case-sensitive, etc.)
Way 2: AP Mode (Access Point Mode)
When using AP Mode, the LP5 machine becomes a wireless access point (AP), waiting for your device to connect/access.
In AP mode, the phone will use the laser unit's network and temporarily lose its internet access. It is recommended to use this mode outdoors where internet access is not needed.
Long press the "Preview Button" for 3 seconds to enter AP mode, and long press again to exit AP mode. The LP5 Machine is waiting for pairing in AP mode: The indicator is blinking purple.
Go to "System Settings" on your phone and tap WLAN or Wi-Fi. Then Find and connect to [LP5-xxxxx].
Open the LDS APP, tap "Discover devices", and select the [LP5-xxxxx] to connect. The LP5 Machine is paired in AP mode: The indicator is solid purple.
Connect to LDS PC Software
Way 1: USB Cable Connection
Please make sure your computer has the latest LDS software installed. LDS official software download link: https://www.laserpecker.net/pages/software
Connect the machine to the computer via the USB cable.
①Connect the USB-C end of the 1.5 m cable to the USB-C port on the Laser Unit.
②Connect the USB-A end to the USB-A port on the computer.
Open LDS PC software, click Connect the device, select USB, and select the identified COM3 (COM3 is an example. Names are not the same on different machines)

Way 2: Wi-Fi Connection (First time Wi-Fi setup or changing the network)
Tip: Using the LP5 machine for the first time or changing the network of the LP5 machine, you must connect the machine to a computer using a USB cable.
Once the cable is connected, click the "Settings" icon in the upper right corner and go to the machine settings interface.
Enter the machine settings page, select "Wi-Fi setting", and follow the instructions to configure the Wi-Fi network for the machine.
Choose the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network that operates on the same frequency band as your computer. Enter the Wi-Fi password (for accuracy, it is recommended to enable password preview) and verify that the Wi-Fi name and password are correct. Then, click the "OK" button and wait for the successful configuration of the Wi-Fi connection.
After the Wi-Fi configuration is successful, please unplug the USB cable on your computer before clicking the "Connect to Wi-Fi" button.
Click "Connect the device" in the upper right corner, then click Wi-Fi and choose your LP5 machine.
Way 3: Wi-Fi Connection (The second time)
For the LP5 that has been connected to a Wi-Fi network previously, you can directly click "Connect the device" in the upper right corner and click "Wi-Fi" to select your LP5 machine.
Way 4: IP Connection
1. If you can’t find your LP5 through Wi-Fi, try using an IP connection instead.
2. The IP connection is simply a backup for Wi-Fi. All the requirements for a Wi-Fi connection also apply to an IP connection.
3. If you connect your machine to a new Wi-Fi network, the IP address of your LP5 will change as well..
If your LP5 machine is successfully connected one Wi-Fi network, then you can see the IP address of your LP5 machine under Wi-Fi configuration. Take down the IP address.
When using the IP connection, enter the IP address you noted down.
Connection Failure
If the connection fails, please check:
- Go to the Wi-Fi settings on your smartphone or iPad and click "Forget This Network".
- Restart your mobile device and LP5, then try the connection process again.
- Verify your Wi-Fi device is on and that your LP5 and the computer/ mobile phone are within the range.
