This guide provides step-by-step instructions for upgrading the firmware of the LaserPecker LX2.
Important Things to Know Before Upgrading
- The firmware can be upgraded via USB cable or Wi-Fi connection.
- Ensure a stable power supply and connection during the entire process.
- Keep LDS software active throughout the upgrade.
- Do not operate or move the LX2 while upgrading.
Updating LX2 Firmware Using LDS PC Software
- Ensure that your computer is connected to the network, then open the LDS software and connect your LX2 to LDS via USB or Wi-Fi.
Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right corner to open the Device Settings interface.
- On the "Basic Information" page, find the firmware version. The software will connect to the internet to check if your LX2 firmware is the latest version.
- If a new firmware version is available, a small red dot will appear in the upper right corner of "Check for Updates", prompting you to update the firmware. Click it to upgrade.
- If it is the latest firmware, no update is required.
- The upgrade window will list the detailed firmware version number and release note. Please read and confirm them. Then click "Upgrade" in the lower right corner to begin the firmware upgrade.
- A temporary disconnection during the upgrade is normal. Please wait and do not close the software or turn off the device.
6. After updating, click "Confirm" and reconnect your LX2 to the LDS software, and check if the version number matches the latest firmware. If it does, the upgrade is successful. If not, repeat the steps above.
Troubleshooting Firmware Upgrade Failures
If the firmware upgrade fails, follow these steps to resolve the issues encountered during the upgrade process:
1. Restart the machine and reconnect it to the computer to try updating again.
If the firmware version has been updated successfully, the new version will be shown. Otherwise, the software may still display the firmware information from the previous version.
2. Check your network connection.
Ensure your computer is connected to the Internet in order to retrieve the device's firmware information. If the issue persists, try using a different network and attempt the firmware update again.
3. Check the LX2's status and power.
The LX2 must be powered on, properly connected, and not engaged in any processing tasks during the update.
