Laser processing generates smoke and debris, which can accumulate on the protective lens or clog the air nozzle. If not cleaned regularly, this may reduce laser power, affect engraving/cutting quality, or even cause damage to the laser module. The software will automatically remind you when cleaning is needed—please follow the recommendations to maintain optimal performance.
Before You Begin
Prepare the following materials:
- Cleaning agents: Alcohol or anhydrous isopropanol
- Cleaning tools: Lint-free cloth, professional lens-cleaning swabs
Cleaning Steps
1. Power off and remove the Laser Module
Turn off the machine and detach the Laser Module to ensure safe cleaning.
2. Cleaning the 2W Infrared Laser Module
For the 2W infrared Laser Module, only use a lint-free cloth to clean the protective lens.
3. Cleaning the 20W, 40W and 60W Diode Laser Modules
(1) Remove the air nozzle
Rotate the air nozzle counter-clockwise to detach it.
(2) Remove the protective lens
Similarly, rotate the protective lens counter-clockwise to remove it.
(3) Clean both components
Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with alcohol to clean the air nozzle and the protective lens.
Normally, the focusing lens does not require cleaning.
However, if it becomes dirty while removing the protective lens, clean it carefully as well.

If the Protective Lens has visible cracks, replace it with the spare Protective Lens included in the LX2 toolkit.
Recommended Cleaning Frequency
| Laser Module | Cleaning Interval |
| 60W Diode | Every 2 hours of processing |
| 40W Diode | Every 2 hours of processing |
| 20W Diode | Every 4 hours of processing |
| 2W Infrared | Every 24 hours of processing |
To check total processing time and pass count:
Connect the machine → Device Settings → Mode Settings → scroll to the bottom.
These intervals apply when engraving materials that produce heavy smoke (wood, bamboo, cardboard).
If using Air Assist, the required frequency can be reduced.
Additional Notes & Precautions
1. Ensure Proper Installation
Regularly check that the Laser Module and the protective lens are firmly and correctly installed to prevent loosening or falling during operation.
2. Keep Air Assist On
Air assist helps blow away smoke and dust, significantly reducing contamination on the lens.
3. Protective Lens Is a Consumable
Even with air assist, long-term use may cause:
- micro-scratches
- accumulated residue
- reduced laser transmittance
Replace the protective lens periodically depending on wear.
