Upgrading the LP2 Plus Firmware

This guide offers detailed instructions for upgrading the firmware of LaserPecker LP2 Plus. If you want to know how to do the upgrade or have trouble during the upgrade, please refer to this guide.

Important Notes Before Upgrading

  • Make sure your LP2 Plus is connected to LDS via Wi-Fi.
  • Ensure a stable power supply and Wi-Fi connection throughout the upgrade.
  • Keep LDS software or app active during the entire upgrade process.
  • Avoid using or moving the LP2 Plus during the upgrade.

Updating LP2 Plus Firmware Using LDS App

(1) Connect your LP2 Plus to the LaserPecker Design Space App.

(2) Click "Create" to access the canvas.

(3) Tap the ⚙ button in the top right corner of the canvas to open the Mode Settings page.

(4) Scroll down to the "Firmware Version" section. A red dot will indicate that a new firmware version is available. Tap the "Firmware Version" section and click "Confirm" in the pop-up to start the update.

(5) After updating, reconnect your LP2 Plus to the LaserPecker Design Space App and check if the firmware version matches the latest one. If it does, the upgrade is successful. If not, repeat the steps above.

Updating LP2 Plus Firmware Using LDS PC Software

(1) Connect your computer to Wi-Fi and open the LDS software.

(2) Click the ⚙ button in the upper right corner to open the machine settings interface.

(3) Navigate to the Firmware Version section. A red dot indicates that a new firmware version is available.

(4) After updating, reconnect your LP2 Plus to the LDS software and check if the version number matches the latest firmware. If it does, the upgrade is successful. If not, repeat the steps above.

How to Handle Firmware Upgrade Failure

Following these steps helps prevent and resolve issues encountered during firmware upgrades for your LP2 Plus effectively.

(1) After completing the firmware installation, reconnect to your LP2 Plus and check its information to confirm the update. If the update is not confirmed, the LP2 Plus may still be using the previous firmware version.

(2) Check your network connection. Make sure your phone or computer is connected to the Internet to retrieve the device firmware information.

(3) Verify the status and power supply of your LaserPecker:

  • The device must be powered on.
  • Ensure it's connected to the app or software.
  • The machine should be idle and not currently engaged in any engraving process before starting a firmware upgrade.
