Problem Description
After connecting the LaserPecker LX2 Plus to a computer via a USB cable, the machine may not appear in the Connect Device list in LDS software.
Possible Causes
- Missing or incorrectly installed USB drivers
- Faulty USB cable or port
- Antivirus software or firewall blocking the connection
- Communication port occupied by another program
- Computer system not meeting LDS requirements
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Step 1 Verify Software Version
Please ensure you have the correct software installed. The LaserPecker LX2 requires the LDS Beta version for connection and operation. Download and install it from the following official link:
https://www.laserpecker.net/pages/software-beta
Step 2 Check Computer Drivers
Missing or incorrectly installed drivers can prevent the computer from recognizing the LX2.
Windows:
(1) Connect the machine to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
(2) Right-click the Start button and open Device Manager.
(3) Expand Network adapters and check if USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget #2 is listed.
(4) If not listed, install the necessary drivers.
macOS:
(1) Open System Report.
(2) Under Hardware, select Ethernet.
(3) Verify whether an RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget is listed.
Step 3 Inspect USB Cable and Port
Faulty cables or ports can prevent recognition.
(1) Ensure the USB cable is firmly connected; try unplugging and reconnecting it.
(2) Test the computer’s USB port with another device.
- If the other device works, the port is functional.
- If not, try a different USB port for the LX2.
(3) If the issue persists, try a different USB data cable.
Step 4 Disable Antivirus and Firewall
(1) Temporarily disable your computer's antivirus software and firewall.
(2) Restart LDS and attempt to connect the LX2 again.
Step 5 Allow Local Network Access for LDS (macOS Only)
On macOS, LaserPecker Design Space (LDS) requires local network access to communicate
with the LX2, even when the device is connected via USB.
(1) Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner, open System Settings, then go to
Privacy & Security > Local Network.
(2) Locate "LaserPecker Design Space" in the app list and ensure that local network
access is enabled by switching the toggle to the ON position.
(3) Restart LDS and attempt to connect the LX2 again.
Step 6 Close Conflicting Software
If the LX2 appears in Device Manager but cannot connect in LDS, another program may be occupying the communication port (e.g., LightBurn).
- Ensure all other software that could occupy the port is completely closed.
- Run only LDS and attempt the connection again.
Step 7 Try Another Computer
LDS has specific system requirements.
- Refer to the official minimum system requirements.
- Connect the LX2 to a different computer to check if the issue is caused by the current system environment.
