This article introduces the main safety features of the LP4 Safeguard. To ensure proper operation, the Standard Enclosure connection cable must be correctly connected. If it is not, the enclosure will not interlock with the machine, and the intended safety protections will be disabled.
1. Emergency Stop Switch
The emergency stop switch is a key safety feature of the laser engraver. Pressing it immediately cuts power to the machine, halting all processing to protect the operator and equipment.
Activate Emergency Stop:
In emergencies (e.g., processing errors, machine malfunctions), press the switch to quickly stop the machine.
Deactivate Emergency Stop:
After resolving the issue, rotate the switch to release it. Power will be restored for normal operation.
2. Door Safety Interlock
The Standard Enclosure monitors the front door.
Pause on Door Open:
If the door is opened during processing, the laser will automatically stop.
Resume on Door Close:
Close the door and click "Resume" in the LDS software to continue processing.
3. Tilt Detection
The machine stops laser output immediately if it tilts or is displaced during operation, preventing engraving accidents caused by external impacts or uneven placement.
4. Overheat Protection
The LP4 has an overheat protection system. If the Laser Unit exceeds a safe temperature, the system automatically stops laser output to prevent damage.
