LX2 Air Assist – No Airflow Output

Problem Description

The air assist is not functioning; no airflow is coming from the laser nozzle.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Check the Air Assist Mode

  • Ensure the air assist switch is not set to OFF.
  • For machines using the 1064 nm 2W Laser Module, the air assist does not operate in AUTO mode.
  • Switch to manual mode, set airflow intensity to MAX, and check if airflow is present.

2. Inspect the Air Hose Connection

  • Verify that the air hose between the laser nozzle and the air assist unit is connected correctly according to the user manual.
  • Inspect the hose for kinks, crushing, or damage.

3. Check for Blockages in the Hose

  • Disconnect the air hose from both the air assist unit and the laser module.
  • Check the inside of the hose for any obstructions.
  • When disconnecting from the air assist, press the black part of the connector with two fingers to unlock it.

4. Inspect and Clean the Air Assist Filter

  • Open the protective cover at the bottom of the air assist unit.
  • Remove the filter and check for blockages at the air intake.
  • Clean or replace the filter, then test airflow again.

5. Verify Power Supply

  • The air assist can be powered by either the LX2 host or a separate power adapter.
  • Ensure the power cable is firmly connected.
  • If possible, try a different power cable or test the unit using a 24V/2.5A (or higher) adapter.
