Problem Description
The air assist is not functioning; no airflow is coming from the laser nozzle.
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Check the Air Assist Mode
- Ensure the air assist switch is not set to OFF.
- For machines using the 1064 nm 2W Laser Module, the air assist does not operate in AUTO mode.
- Switch to manual mode, set airflow intensity to MAX, and check if airflow is present.
2. Inspect the Air Hose Connection
- Verify that the air hose between the laser nozzle and the air assist unit is connected correctly according to the user manual.
- Inspect the hose for kinks, crushing, or damage.
3. Check for Blockages in the Hose
- Disconnect the air hose from both the air assist unit and the laser module.
- Check the inside of the hose for any obstructions.
- When disconnecting from the air assist, press the black part of the connector with two fingers to unlock it.
4. Inspect and Clean the Air Assist Filter
- Open the protective cover at the bottom of the air assist unit.
- Remove the filter and check for blockages at the air intake.
- Clean or replace the filter, then test airflow again.
5. Verify Power Supply
- The air assist can be powered by either the LX2 host or a separate power adapter.
- Ensure the power cable is firmly connected.
- If possible, try a different power cable or test the unit using a 24V/2.5A (or higher) adapter.
