If the Y-axis on your LX2 does not move or moves irregularly during operation, you may be unable to complete your project. If you are experiencing this issue, this article may help you troubleshoot it.
Possible Cause 1: Disconnected or Damaged Y-Axis Motor Cable
- Turn off the LX2.
- Check the connection cable between the Y-axis motor and the control board for any signs of a loose connection or damage.
- If the connection is loose, reconnect the cable. Restart the computer to check whether the issue has been resolved.
Possible Cause 2: Physical Damage to the Cable or Connector
- Turn off the LX2.
- Check the Y-axis motor cable for breaks or other damage. If it is damaged, replace the Y-axis motor cable.
- Check the pins inside the connectors on both the mainboard and the motor for bending or damage. If any pins are bent or damaged, replace the mainboard or the motor.
Possible Cause 3: Interference from Other Cables
- Turn off the LX2.
- Disconnect the Air Assist cable and check it for breaks or other damage. If it is damaged, replace the Air Assist cable.
- Leave the Air Assist cable disconnected and restart the device to prevent cable interference from causing irregular Y-axis movement.
Possible Cause 4: Damaged Y-Axis Limit Switch
- Check the Y-axis limit switch for physical damage. To verify that it is functioning properly, manually trigger the limit switch and observe whether the Y-axis motor stops immediately.
Note: To avoid pinching your fingers, we recommend using a slat to trigger the limit switch. We also recommend manually moving the Y-axis to the lowest position before performing the trigger test to prevent the moving assembly from colliding with the machine.
