This article is a tutorial for the LaserPecker LP4 with Rotary Extension.
Step 1. Rotary Extension Assembly and Cable Connection
Firstly, assemble the Rotary Extension by following the user manual or the assembly video. When done correctly, it should look like the picture below.
Secondly, Connect the cables as shown in the picture.
When the Electric Stand power input is connected to the output port of the Rotary Extension with a cable, you cannot control the height of the Electric Stand via the LDS software/app. To raise or lower the Electric Stand, you must press the Up/Down buttons manually.
Step 2. Secure the Object to be Engraved with the Rotary Extension
1. Lock the Chuck's Starting Position:
① Find a suitable starting position for engraving.
② Align the white dots on the chuck (#2 in the above image) with the arrow indicator.
③ Press down on the Lock Button (#1 in the above image) to lock the position.
*The Lock Button secures the starting position and prevents unintended movement.
2. Adjust for Larger Materials:
Rotate the chuck (#3 in the above image) counterclockwise to open the jaws for larger diameter materials.
3. Press up the Lock Button
Once the object is securely in place, press up the Lock Button to allow the chuck to rotate again.
Step 3. Turn on the Rotary Extension Mode in LDS
1. Power On
Ensure the Rotary Extension is powered on before using it.
2. Proper Sequence
If you turn on the Rotary Extension Mode in LDS before powering on the Rotary Extension, it will not work properly. Connect the Rotary Extension to the power supply, restart the LDS, and then turn on the Rotary Extension Mode.
3. Check Connection
Sign 1: Solid Blue Indicator Light
The Rotary Extension's indicator light will turn blue if your LP4 is properly connected.
Sign 2: Two Beeps
Turn on the Rotary Extension Mode in the settings interface of the LDS. You will then hear two beeps from the LP4 machine.
Step 4. Start Engraving with the Rotary Extension
1. Access the Creation Interface
① Tap "Creation" on the home page of the LDS.
② Choose the image you want to engrave and import it.
③ Drag the image to adjust its size and shape within the area indicated by the red rectangle.
2. Set Object Dimensions
① Click "Preview" in the top right corner of the Creation interface.
② Enter the perimeter or diameter (in mm or inches) of the object you will be engraving.
Tips: Entering incorrect or blank values for diameter/perimeter may cause the engraving to be deformed or overlapped.
The LDS uses millimeters or inches as units of length. You can click "Settings" in the bottom toolbar of the Creation Interface and swipe left to switch between inches and millimeters.
3. Preview the Engraving
During the preview, a straight blue beam will be emitted onto the object, indicating the X-axis length of the image in the LDS. (In this example, the length of the X-axis is 83.36 mm)
After clicking "Continue", the chuck of the Rotary Extension will rotate, and the rotation path will correspond to the Y-axis length of the image. (In this example, the length of the Y-axis is 79.14 mm.)
Release the Lock Button before starting the preview. If you do not, the chuck of the Rotary Extension will not be able to rotate. If the Rotary Extension isn't functioning properly, please check for any mistakes in steps 1 and 3.
4. Engraving
After previewing the size and position of the image, set the engraving parameters. Then start the engraving process and wait for it to complete.
