This tutorial will show you how to use the Material Test Array function in LaserPecker Design Space on PC.
*Learn more about how to use the Material Test Array function of LaserPecker Design Space on iOS & Android.
Function Introduction
The Material Test Array efficiently generates an automatic test based on your design. This makes setting material parameters faster and more efficient. By using this function, a user's intuitive understanding of the different effects on various projects increases.
1. This function is only available in LaserPecker Design Space V2.4.1 or later.
2. Use single elements if possible, e.g. geometric figures, or simple G-code graphics.
3. The parameter configuration of the elements in the array cannot be changed individually after the array is generated.
4. You may adjust the power and depth values, and select the filled type in "Settings" in the lower right corner.
The generated array includes the array title, power, depth, and the engraving elements in corresponding power and depth. Resolution and laser type can be set after the array is generated.
You can preview the array and make changes to your needs.
Step-by-Step Guide to the Material Test Array Function
1. Create a Linear Array
Step 1: Create a line pattern by clicking "Line" and choosing the geometric figure.
Step 2: Click "Create Bulk" (now "Grid" in the latest LDS version) and select "Material Test Array".
Step 3: Enter the title name, the maximum and minimum values for power and depth, the number of rows and columns, and the spacing values. Click "OK" to generate the array.
1. Clicking "Cancel" or "Close" will clear the values entered and quit the creation of a test array.
2. After entering the maximum and minimum values, click the "Threshold" text box to enable automatic calculation.
2. Create a Filled Array
Step 1: Create a filled pattern by clicking "Line" to generate a geometric figure and clicking "Fill".
Step 2: Choose "Create bulk" (now "Grid" in the latest LDS version) and select "Material Test Array".
Step 3: Enter the title name, the maximum and minimum values for power and depth, the number of rows and columns, and the spacing values. Click "OK" to generate the array.
1. Clicking "Cancel" or "Close" will clear the entered values and quit the array creation.
2. After entering the maximum and minimum values, you need to click on the "Threshold" text box to enable automatic calculation.
3. Create an Image Array
Step 1: Import the image (choose a relatively simple one for easier operation), then choose "Create bulk" (now "Grid" in the latest LDS version) and click "Material Test Array".
Choose the Dither effect for the imported image, or the values of the filled type will be generated by default.
Step 2: Enter the title name, the maximum and minimum values for power and depth, the number of rows and columns, and the spacing values. Click "OK" to generate the array.
1. Clicking "Cancel" or "Close" will clear the values entered and quit the creation of a test array.
2. After entering the maximum and minimum values, click the "Threshold" text box to enable automatic calculation.
