  1. Make sure your LP5 is connected to LDS via Wi-Fi.
  2. Ensure stable power supply and Wi-Fi connection throughout the upgrade.
  3. Keep LDS software or app active during the entire upgrade process.
  4. Avoid using or moving the LP5 during the upgrade.

Method 1: Updating LP5 Firmware Using LDS PC Software

1. When a new firmware version is available, a pop-up will appear as soon as you connect your LP machine to the PC software, prompting you to upgrade.

2. Click "OK" to start the LP5 firmware upgrade right away.

1. Connect your computer to Wi-Fi and open the LDS software. Then, connect your LP5 to LDS via Wi-Fi.

3. Navigate to the "Firmware version" section. A red dot indicates a new firmware version is available.

4. Click "Firmware Upgrade" and click "OK" in the pop-up to start the LP5 firmware upgrade.

5. After updating, reconnect your LP5 to the LDS software and check if the version number matches the latest firmware. If it does, the upgrade is successful. If not, repeat the steps above.

Method 2: Update LP5's Firmware Using LDS App

1. Connect your mobile device to Wi-Fi and open the LDS App. Then, connect your LP5 to the app via Wi-Fi.

6. After updating, reconnect your LP5 to the LaserPecker Design Space app and check if the firmware version matches the latest one. If it does, the upgrade is successful. If not, repeat the steps.

How to Handle Firmware Upgrade Failure

Following these steps helps prevent and resolve issues encountered during firmware upgrades for your LP5 effectively.

1. After completing the firmware installation, it's crucial to reconnect to the machine and check its information to ensure the update was successful. Failing to do so may leave the machine on its previous firmware version.

2. Check your network connection. Make sure your phone or computer is connected to the Internet to retrieve the device firmware information.

3. Verify the status and power supply of your LaserPecker LP5:

  • LP5 must be powered on.
  • Ensure it's connected to the app or software.
  • The machine should be idle and not currently engaged in any engraving process before starting a firmware upgrade.
