#4 Use the LP5 Machine
4.1 Create Project/Import Project from USB Flash Drive
You can create your own designs using LDS
LP5 also offers a new way to start a project by importing it from a USB flash drive. After inserting the flash drive into the machine, the project files (.lpb) on the drive can be selected using the PC software or mobile App to preview and engrave.
4.2 Set parameters
As usual, you need to set the engraving or cutting parameters via LDS software/app to achieve the desired effect.
4.3 Focusing
Dual Red Spots Focusing for LP5:
Place the material on the Base Plate. Initiate the preview mode or turn on the red dots focusing mode in the machine settings through App or PC software to observe the two spots. Adjust the height of the Electric Stand until the two red spots coincide, and the focus is successfully set.
4.4 Preview
LP5 now offers three preview modes: Rectangle Preview, Outline Preview, and Center Point Preview. These modes provide enhanced visibility into the engraving area, allowing for better understanding of the workspace.
4.5 Engrave/Cut
After previewing and confirming the engraving area, tap Confirm to begin the engraving and cutting process.
*Emergency Stop
If errors or machine faults occur during material processing, press the emergency stop button to disconnect and stop processing.

FAQs for LaserPecker LP5
What accessories can the LaserPecker LP5 work with?
The LP5 works with the following accessories:
Slide extension - expand the working area;
Rotary extension - irregular cylinders and objects from 1 mm to 145 mm in diameter;
Air Purifier; Safety Enclosure; Cutting plate; Powerpack Plus.
What is the laser type of LaserPecker LP5?
Equipped with dual laser sources, LP5 has 20W fiber and 20W blue diode laser. It can engrave almost ALL common materials during daily usage. Diode lasers perform best on wood, dark acrylic, leather, slate, glass, ceramic, etc., while fiber lasers can engrave clearly on all-metals(stainless steel, aluminum, gold, silver, iron, platinum) and plastic.
Is the camera included in any LP5 Bundle?
The camera module is NOT in any current LP5 bundles. It comes with the Safety Enclosure. If you want to use the camera module function, you will need to purchase our Safety Enclosure separately.
How's LP5's Performance on metal? Can it cut metal?
LP5 can perform deep engraving, 3D grayscale embossing and even metal cutting. It can cut 1 mm brass, 1 mm stainless steel, 1 mm aluminum sheet and 1 mm titanium sheet.
What is the difference between LP5 and LP4?
LP5 -
Most efficient and powerful engraving on almost all materials: LP5 has both 20W Fiber and 20W Diode Laser with its super speed 10000mm/s, 120 mm x 160 mm (Basic)/160 mm x 300 mm (with the Slide Extension) engraving area.
20-watt brings enhanced engraving capabilities, enabling high-contrast markings, 3d grayscale embossing, and ultra-precise metal cutting. LP4 -
The LP4 features a dual laser system, combining the 450nm diode laser and 1064nm infrared laser. Up to 4000 mm/s speed, 160 mm x 120 mm (Basic)/160 mm x 300 mm (with the Slide Extension)engraving area.
What Software does LaserPecker LP5 use?
The LaserPecker LP5 is compatible with LaserPecker Design Space (LDS) App/Software as well as Lightburn.
What are the pulse durations for the two laser sources on the LP5?
The LP5 features two laser sources, each with different pulse characteristics:
The 1064nm fiber laser is a pulsed wave laser with a pulse duration of 80-110ns.
The 450nm blue diode laser operates as a continuous wave laser, so it doesn't have a pulse duration.
