LX2 Network Setup Failures

  • Updated

Issue Description

The LaserPecker LX2 failed to complete Wi-Fi configuration via USB connection.

This issue usually occurs during first-time Wi-Fi setup or when reconfiguring the LX2 to a new Wi-Fi network.

Before You Start

Before configuring Wi-Fi, you must connect the LX2 directly to your computer using the included USB-A to USB-C cable.

• A data-capable USB connection is required for Wi-Fi configuration (charging-only cables are not supported).
• The LX2 supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks, but the LX2 and your computer must be connected to the same frequency band for proper setup.

If Wi-Fi Configuration Fails

1. No Wi-Fi network appears in the list

  • Make sure the target Wi-Fi is broadcasting on a visible SSID.
  • Move the LX2 closer to the router and refresh the network list.

2. Password is rejected or setup fails

  • Re-enter the Wi-Fi password carefully.
  • Temporarily display the password to avoid input errors.
  • Use Wi-Fi names (SSID) and passwords with standard English letters and numbers when possible.

3. LDS Beta becomes unresponsive during configuration

  • Close and restart LDS Beta.
  • Reconnect the USB cable.
  • Restart the LX2 and retry the setup process.

4. Network security software interference

VPNs, firewalls, or antivirus software may interfere with communication between LDS Beta and the LX2. Temporarily disable them and try again.

5. Update LDS Beta and firmware

How to Confirm the Wi-Fi Setup Was Successful

  • The LX2 indicator light turns solid blue.
  • The LX2 becomes available in LDS Beta via wireless connection.

Still Unable to Configure Wi-Fi?

If Wi-Fi configuration still fails after following the steps above, restart both the LX2 and your computer, then repeat the setup process.
If the issue persists, contact LaserPecker Support and provide:
• LDS Beta version
• Computer operating system
• LX2 indicator light status
• Screenshot or short video of the issue
