LX2 Fails to Connect to a Previously Connected Wi-Fi

  • Updated

Problem Description

Your LaserPecker LX2 cannot reconnect to a previously configured Wi-Fi network.

Most Wi-Fi reconnection issues are caused by one of the following:
• The USB cable is still connected
• The Wi-Fi name or password was changed
• The LX2 and your computer/mobile device are connected to different Wi-Fi networks or frequency bands
• The Wi-Fi signal is unstable
• VPN, firewall, or antivirus software is blocking the connection

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Disconnect the USB cable

The LX2 supports only one connection method at a time. If the device is connected to your computer via USB, the Wi-Fi connection will not work.

2. Ensure the LX2 and your computer/mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network

LX2 supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
However, the LX2 and your computer or mobile device must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and frequency band in order to communicate properly.

For example, if your router provides separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, ensure both devices are connected to the same one.

3. Restart the LX2 and LDS

Power off the LX2 completely, wait about 10 seconds, then power it back on. After restarting the device, close and reopen LDS before reconnecting.

4. Check the Annular Indicator Light

  • White blinking: The LX2 is not connected to any Wi-Fi network.
  • Blue blinking: The LX2 is attempting to connect to Wi-Fi.
  • Blue solid: The LX2 is connected to Wi-Fi successfully.

5. Verify your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password

If your router's Wi-Fi name or password has changed, the LX2 can no longer reconnect automatically.

Remove the saved Wi-Fi configuration in LDS, then reconnect the LX2 to the Wi-Fi network again.

6. Check Wi-Fi signal stability

Place the LX2 closer to the router to avoid weak signal issues. If the Wi-Fi connection appears unstable, restart your router and try again.

7. Temporarily disable VPN or antivirus software

Some VPN clients, firewalls, or antivirus software may block communication between LDS and the LX2. Temporarily disable them and try reconnecting again.

Still Unable to Reconnect?

If the LX2 still cannot reconnect after following the steps above, remove the saved Wi-Fi configuration and set up the Wi-Fi connection again from the beginning.
If the issue persists, contact LaserPecker Support and provide:
• Your LDS version
• Your computer or mobile device operating system
• The LX2 indicator light status
• A short video of the connection issue
